Official medal winner portraits — Since 2018

Context

Since 2018, KYMA has produced the official video portraits of CNRS medal-winning researchers each year. A trusted commission renewed across multiple regional delegations, requiring as much rigour in staging as sensitivity in interview direction.

Challenge

Researchers are not subjects used to the camera. Scientific environments are often visually complex. Each portrait must be sober and human, institutional and singular — and from year to year, the series must remain consistent.

Each portrait is built around a work environment — laboratory, lecture hall, office. The interview direction highlights the journey and scientific vision. Constructed yet natural lighting, a sober frame that lets the words take centre stage.

Organisation & Production

Annual collaboration since 2018 with multiple regional delegations. Location scouting in researchers' work environments, lighting in constrained spaces, direction d'interview avec des profils scientifiques non-médiatiques. La continuité assure une cohérence visuelle inter-annuelle et une connaissance précise des attentes institutionnelles.
